Lost Paradise – The Angel’s Gaze

East of Eden. A Garden Show is the umbrella name given to the array of activities – including two major exhibitions – being put on this summer by the Zentrum Paul Klee. One of them, Lost Paradise – The Angel’s Gaze is opening tomorrow, Friday, and features works by artists of the 20th century who are grappling with mankind’s propensity for catastrophe: they are grouped around Paul Klee’s key work Angelus novus, which is being exhibited at the ZPK around the clock from 31 May to 4 June. For the first time, the precincts of the ZPK are being outfitted with a range of conflictive art installations, including Thomas Hirschhorn’s work Holzweg, and a number of cross-disciplinary weekend programmes will be inviting visitors to discover the novel delights of the Zentrum Paul Klee throughout the summer. The other major exhibition, In Paul Klee’s Enchanted Garden, opened on 17 May and will be running until 31 August 2008
