Visitors with special needs

The Zentrum Paul Klee pays particular attention to the requirements of visitors with special needs. Our supervisors and security staff are pleased to assist you at all times.

Arrival and parking facilities
Arrival with public transport directly from Berne station is possible with bus No. 12 direction Zentrum Paul Klee. From the bus stop an 80 meter footpath leads to the main entrance in the Middle Hill (the first 15 meters are gravel, afterwards asphalt). 
If arriving by car or disabled transport: There are three disabled parking spaces available. Parking tickets for wheelchair users can be validated at the Museum ticket office up to 17:00 hours. (The mechanism for using the ticket machine is high up). The delivery entrance can also be used for disabled transport if arranged in advance.

Accessibility
The Zentrum Paul Klee is accessible for visitors with special needs and wheelchair users throughout. The Museum provides wheelchairs for the use of visitors with restricted mobility. 
Museum Street and all the exhibition rooms of the Zentrum Paul Klee have wooden floors. These can be easily navigated with a wheelchair. 
Concerts in the Auditorium: The Auditorium in the basement of the North Hill can be easily reached by means of a lift. A member of staff on duty will gladly accompany you to your seat. When buying your ticket in advance, ask for seats suitable for wheelchair access: Your preferences will gladly be considered.

Reduced entry prices
Visitors with special needs pay only the reduced ticket prices. An accompanying person has free entrance. The Culture Reduction Card is valid at the Zentrum Paul Klee.

Disabled toilets
 Toilets with wheelchair access are situated in the basement of the North Hill in both the ladies’ and gentleman’s toilets. Here the washbasins have space underneath and a mirror which can be tilted downwards.

Assistance for visitors with impaired vision and the blind
- Guide dogs are welcome in the Zentrum Paul Klee.
- Texts in large print on current exhibitions, the Zentrum Paul Klee and its architecture, can be obtained at the Museum box office.
- Several times a year we arrange special tours for visitors with impaired vision or are blind: The art works are made appreciable using special means (Touch reliefs, Foam copies etc.).

Assistance for visitors with impaired hearing
- For the Audio guides to the exhibitions we have Induction loops available for you. 
- On request we can arrange for group tours using sign language.
