In furtherance of its longstanding collaboration with the Concours Geza Anda and the Clara Haskil Competition, the Chopin Society is proud to be showcasing the artist who won the Clara Haskil competition in 2007 and the Geza Anda competition in 2003. Japanese pianist Hisako Kawamura will be presenting a highly intricate picture of assorted facets of the Romantic period. Of particular interest are her renditions of Mendelssohn’s magnificent variations and Chopin’s contributions to the brilliant style of the early 19th century. She will also be applying her particular interpretational skills to familiar masterpieces by Chopin, Haydn and Schumann.
