As with the other main cultural institutions of the City of Bern a performance agreement over several years has been concluded with the Zentrum Paul Klee which also involves the Local Authorities of the Region in the operating costs as part of the Cantonal Cultural Subsidies Act.
The remaining funds are to be raised by the Zentrum Paul Klee itself through operating income and private funds (sponsoring).
Subsidies of the cultural institutions of Bern The November 2004 session of parliamentary question time showed that the Zentrum Paul Klee receives a lower level of subsidies than any other cultural institution in Bern. Grand Councillor Peter Eberhart, Erlenbach (SVP), had wanted to know the amount by which individual admissions were being subsidised at various cultural institutions. The calculation was as follows: all contributions by sponsors, membership fees, contributions by the City and the Canton, after deduction of receipts from admissions, divided by the number of paid admissions. The calculations based on the submission of the questioner yielded the following results (basis: 2003 accounts).
