Duties and objectives of the Stiftung Zentrum Paul Klee

The founding of the Stiftung Zentrum Paul Klee (Zentrum Paul Klee Foundation – SZPK; then the Stiftung Paul Klee-Zentrum – SPKZ) on 15 September 2000 enabled those in charge of the project to proceed in a timely manner with the duties on its agenda in accordance with the operating concept.

Duties of the Stiftung Zentrum Paul Klee
The Stiftung Zentrum Paul Klee ensures the ordinary running of the Zentrum Paul Klee and its financing on behalf of the Canton and City of Bern and its regional communities.

The Stiftung Zentrum Paul Klee pursues the following objectives

  • Sustaining Paul Klee’s cultural heritage by ensuring the running of the Zentrum Paul Klee.
  • Preserving the Foundation assets provided by the Paul-Klee-Stiftung (Paul Klee Foundation – PKS) (around 2,600 works by Paul Klee as the Foundation’s assets).
  • Preserving all the other works of art made available, in particular the donation of Livia Klee-Meyer and the permanent loans by Alexander Klee.
  • Conveying the work of Paul Klee using the very latest techniques and methods.
  • Incorporating music, literature, theatre and dance in the mediation activities.
