Estimated expenditure and earnings (situation as at 2003)

With estimated earnings of around 1.5 million Swiss francs (from admissions, the rental of premises, guided tours, courses, expert opinions, copyrights, loans) the Public Sector (City, Canton and Civic Community of Bern) is expected to cover annual costs of around 5 million Swiss francs for the overall operations of the Zentrum Paul Klee.

The figures merely include basic amounts for additional services such as temporary exhibitions, purchases, running the Children’s Museum and developing electronic media. The Paul Klee-Stiftung der Burgergemeinde Bern (Paul Klee Foundation of the Bern Civic Community – PKS BG) in particular is expected to make a significant contribution towards maintaining the Centre’s lively diversity, given that it supports projects outside ordinary operations.

What’s more, savings of around 6% of operating costs each are entirely realistic through efficient co-operation with Bern’s Art Museum; in fact a new co-operation model is to be drawn up in this respect.
