By choosing Paul Klee – Theatre here, there and everywhere as a title, the Zentrum Paul Klee is reflecting Paul Klee’s lifelong passion for the theatre in a multifaceted choreography of events and activities. The title says it all – the theatre is indeed to be found “everywhere”: in a cross-modal sense on stage as in life; and in the Zentrum Paul Klee, spanning all genres and all settings, including the art on display in the exhibition gallery, in the Museum Street, in the concert hall and in the Creaviva children’s museum. At the heart of it all, the exhibition itself, are more than 160 works culled from the Zentrum’s own collection, plus some forty major international loans. Alongside this, visitors will experience daily happenings throughout the Zentrum – improvisations, video projections, theatre and dance performances, concerts and lectures, all demonstrating links to Klee’s multilayered theatre experiences and bringing them right up to date.
