Origin and Rhythm

The dot is more than a beginning. It can become dense, glow, vibrate and create spaces. In this course, we explore the dot as an independent painterly element – from dissolving an image into countless points of colour and creating playful visual worlds to the powerful symbolism of Aboriginal painting. We work in black and white as well as in colour, experiment with density, rhythm and contrast, and develop lively pictorial surfaces from simple arrangements. The course is aimed at beginners and experienced participants who want to sharpen their perception and discover new possibilities for painterly expression.
