Journey into Other Worlds with Paul Klee

Paul Klee was inspired by nature from an early age, and he was particularly fascinated by the underwater world. Fish and other marine motifs became recurring themes in his paintings, which are characterized by their diversity of form and color. In this workshop, we will draw on this inspiration and use brushes, paint, and wire to create our own underwater worlds on jute.

We will be guided by both the amazing diversity and vitality of the underwater world and Klee's artistic interpretation. Works such as “Fish in a Circle” (1926), “Underwater Garden” (1939), and “The Goldfish” (1925) show how Klee captured the movement, rhythm, and colors of the sea in his art – and serve as inspiration for our own creative experiments. The result is individual, lively, and abstract-figurative compositions that artistically express the magic of the underwater world.
