Schwitters Frühlingstür

Kurt Schwitters (1887–1948) was an uncompromising pioneer of the avant-garde who created a unique synthesis of art, design, and literature that influenced generations of artists. Through his Dada-inspired collages and assemblages, he gave artistic form to the spirit of freedom and renewal that defined his time.

This exhibition traces the evolution of Schwitters’ work – from the path to abstraction and the revolutionary Merzbau to rarely seen portraits, landscapes and sculptures from his time in exile. It recounts the remarkable story of an artist who, even under tragic circumstances, demonstrated extraordinary creative resilience and remained an unmistakably individual voice on the fringes of modernism's major currents.

We cordially invite you and your friends to the vernissage!
