Irish Roots

The Emerald Isle takes centre stage in the master concert with Daniel Hope and his Air Ensemble, with the star violinist also embarking on a personal journey back to his roots. Irish influences in Antonio Vivaldi's music will be heard alongside traditional sounds and melodies. Last but not least, we hear much too little-known composers of the Baroque period who were born in Ireland (such as Turlough O'Carolan, who was blinded by smallpox, or Scarlatti's pupil Thomas Roseingrave) or worked there, including Francesco Geminiani, for example.
