Manifest

Music is magic: invisible, intangible – yet immensely powerful. When music comes to life, it creates wondrous worlds and enchants our souls. With their programme Manifest, Lea Desandre and Ensemble Jupiter, directed by Thomas Dunford, take us on a journey into the heart of this invisible world. They trace the stories of magical female figures – witches, sorceresses and goddesses – immortalised in the works of 18th-century composers, including women composers! Through the voices of Circe, Armida, Alcina, Medea, Poppea and Agrippina, we encounter powerful archetypes and experience first-hand the enchanting power of music. The detailed programme is currently being developed and will receive its world premiere in January 2027.
