Hearing Colours – Seeing Music

A collaboration between CAMERATA BERN and Creaviva

Together we embark on a creative journey exploring the theme of departure and discover how music can make movement visible. In this workshop, families translate the musical acceleration of tempo into dynamic lines, shapes, and symbols. Inspired by the visual world of Paul Klee, participants create individual artworks that connect sound, movement, and artistic expression.

Accompanied by live music, families with children aged 4 and above first experience physically and visually how musical accelerando feels and develops. The growing energy of the music is transformed into moving lines on a dark prepared background. Inspired by forms and symbols found in Paul Klee’s works, we enrich the artworks with our own signs, directions, and pathways.

The workshop combines listening, movement, observation, and artistic creation into a shared sensory experience. Afterwards, we attend the concert rehearsal Departure, where the musical energy previously explored through art can be experienced live in the concert hall.

The workshop, followed by the rehearsal visit, invites families to discover music with all their senses and to make the moment of departure creatively visible.
