Colors, shapes, and musical moods
A collaboration between CAMERATA BERN and Creaviva
Together, we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of Paul Klee and discover the special connection between music and color. In this creative workshop, we will learn how sounds, rhythms, and melodies can be translated into shapes, lines, and colors in individual ways. Under professional guidance, we will create personal works of art that visualize our own perception of music.
Accompanied by live piano music, we will explore different moods – from calm, gentle melodies to lively, rhythmic passages. Participants will mix colors, experiment with color compositions, develop imaginative symbols and notations, and creatively translate these onto paper. Step by step, a unique picture will emerge that expresses music in color and form. The workshop offers space for discovery, experimentation, and wonder, ending with a harmonious combination of painting and musical experience.
After exploring colors, shapes, and musical moods through design, we will enjoy the music of the subsequent concert by CAMERATA BERN with the program «Once Upon a Time» in the auditorium of the Zentrum Paul Klee. Works by Purcell, Henze, Larcher, Cage, and other composers take on an additional dimension when the sounds are combined with our own artistic impressions.
The workshop followed by a concert visit is a sensory adventure for anyone who wants to explore the special connection between music and color.
